Staff-Project Scientist/Engineer/Geologist

Our culture appeals to individuals interested in providing technically excellent services in a highly responsive manner focused on meeting our client’s project-specific needs.Primary ResponsibilitiesWe are seeking a beginner to intermediate-level Scientist, Geologist, or Engineer with experience in environmental field work and supporting report preparation. The qualified candidates would ideally have at least 2–5 years of professional experience with the following environmental activities:IEPA LUST & SRP investigation and reporting activitiesASTM Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site AssessmentsSoil excavation oversight and confirmation samplingConduct soil, groundwater, and soil-gas samplingOversee soil boring and monitor well installationDocument review and reporting including laboratory data analysisPrepare groundwater elevation contour maps and geologic cross sectionsMust communicate effectively with team members, managers, subcontractors, and on-site personnelQualificationsBS in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, or related fieldProficiency with IEPA TACOStrong technical writing and communication skillsAbility to travel 40–50% (primarily local), occasionally on short noticeStrong Microsoft Office Word and Excel skillsAble to work independently with limited guidance and be detail-orientedStrong understanding and commitment to health and safety protocolsWilling to work outside in a variety of climates and traverse tough terrainWilling to work at active industrial propertiesWilling to work over and/or outside of regular business hours, as needed40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification a plusIntegral to the position will be proficiency in review, interpretation, and application of local, federal, and state environmental regulations, as well as detailed standards from organizations such as ASTM. The qualified person would prepare supporting reports associated with the above-listed activities in accordance with applicable standards and agency regulations.
