Job Description Job ID: 3170976 | Amazon Data Services, Inc. AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. This role is a Data Center Technician position supporting multiple AWS locations. Key Responsibilities Perform server rack installations, hardware break‑fix on various components, troubleshooting network issues, and responding to operational incidents that impact service availability; escalating to senior technicians and management as needed. Serve as the primary contact point for internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, software developers, vendors, and contractors. Participate in primary responder rotation and on‑call duties, including scheduled maintenance and change management activities. Contribute to documentation and process improvement initiatives based on operational issue analysis. Help train and onboard new team members. Day in the Life Take ownership of technical issues raised by the customer base, engaging other teams as needed to drive resolution. Solve problems at their root and understand broader context. Maintain service level agreements through proactive issue detection and reporting. Work Requirements Must be willing to work independently or with a team, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and nights to support 24/7 operations. Travel within and outside the regional work area is required; have a reliable personal vehicle and a valid driver’s license. Physical requirements: regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds; work in cramped, elevated, or noisy environments; bend, lift, stretch, reach, stand, and walk for up to 8+ hours a day; ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely. Qualifications 2+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience. 1+ year of computer networking experience. High school or equivalent diploma. Preferred Qualifications Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure. Location and Compensation USA, MD, Frederick – $27.00 – $48.00 USD hourly.
