Lunch Monitor

Starting Date: Immediately Lunch Monitor Wimberley Independent School District Jacobs Well Elementary – Wimberley, Texas Job Description Provide assistance to the teachers, students and staff in creating a cohesive environment for students during their lunch periods. Qualifications Education/Certification: High school diploma or GED. Special Knowledge/Skills: Ability to work with children. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Ability to communicate effectively. Experience: Some experience working with children. Major Responsibilities and Duties Help manage behavior of students; intervene in crisis situations and restrain disruptive or dangerous student behavior as needed. Keep teacher informed of special needs or problems of individual students. Maintain confidentiality. Participate in staff development training programs, faculty meetings, and special events as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities None. Equipment Used N/A. Working Conditions Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing, and pulling; regular heavy lifting of students. Biological exposure to bacteria and communicable diseases.
