Graduate Intern

$35/hr

Under the supervision of a registered pharmacist, dispenses prescription medications in a high volume pharmacy. Provides high level member service.

Job duties include:

• Dispensing prescription medications, measuring and counting medication into appropriate containers.
• Labeling prescriptions and applying appropriate warning stickers.
• Verifying prescriptions and refills with physicians by phone.
• Selecting substitutions when necessary.
• Obtaining patient medical history and maintaining confidential computer records.
• Checking prescriptions and over the counter medications for drug interactions.
• Counseling customers on proper medication usage.
• Providing prompt and courteous customer service.
• Answering customer questions about over-the-counter medication and product location.
• Addressing other customer concerns including insurance issues.
• Preserving customer confidentiality.
• Assisting in perpetual inventory of Schedule II to V controlled substances.
• Participating in twice yearly inventory of Department 92 and 93.
• Meeting proper department production, record keeping, and product storage procedures and standards.
• Following safety and security procedures.
• Executing proper Central Fill and DUR functions.
• Delivering immunizations.
• Approving and submitting orders for equipment and supplies.
• Ordering products using a computer system.
• Coordinating proper maintenance and repairs for machinery and equipment.
• Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery.
• Assisting with department duties as necessary.
• Assisting in other departments of the warehouse as necessary.
