Housekeeping – Salem Lutheran Homes & Rehab Location: Salem Lutheran Homes & Rehab, 2027 College St, Elk Horn, IA 51531-0000 USA. Employment Type: Part‑Time. Shift: 8 Hours – Day Shifts. Job Responsibilities Follow routine cleaning schedules, cleaning floors, walls, doors, furniture, bed frames, mattresses, toilets, sinks, bathroom vents, and wastebaskets. Ensure drapes and privacy curtains are free of dust, dirt, and stains and hung properly. Perform special cleaning procedures such as discharge cleaning and isolation cleaning. Keep residents’ items and call lights within reach per resident preference and location policy. Monitor and report lingering odors and take corrective action. Provide residents with choices for cleaning times and respect refusals. Complete documentation on appropriate forms and learn residents by name and communication needs. Use appropriate communication techniques in line with resident care plans. Explain cleaning procedures to residents when possible. Participate in quality improvement audits, task forces, and care conferences. Secure chemicals in a locked area per policy. Adhere to OSHA and CDC guidelines, following aseptic cleaning techniques for blood‑borne pathogens. Qualifications Previous work experience not required. Basic ability to communicate and comprehend.
