Job Description

The CV PreOp unit provides critical care for patients undergoing cardiothoracic procedures. As a Registered Nurse in this unit, you will be responsible for pre-operative assessments, large-bore IV starts, medication administration, skin assessments, and assisting with various procedures. Your role is vital in ensuring patients receive exceptional care while preparing for surgery.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-operative assessments and ensure patient safety.
• Administer medications and manage IV access.
• Assist with arterial line, central line, and epidural placements.
• Transport patients to the OR and assist with induction and positioning.
• Work collaboratively with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active RN license with Critical Care experience.
• ACLS and BLS certification required.
• Pre-op experience is a plus.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
