Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Make a meaningful impact in the lives of high school students by bringing your expertise as a Special Education Teacher to a full-time contract position starting August 2026 and continuing through the end of the 2026–2027 school year. This onsite assignment offers the chance to support a small, manageable caseload (maximum of about 10 students in grades 9–12) both within general education classrooms and through targeted pull-out services.

Your role will be crucial in guiding students with diverse needs, particularly in the areas of social, emotional, behavioral support, as well as reading and math interventions.
What You’ll Need:
- Current Maryland Secondary Special Education Teaching License
- Previous experience teaching or supporting high school students (grades 9–12) preferred
- Ability to deliver instruction using both inclusion/co-teaching models and pull-out settings
- Strong knowledge of social/emotional/behavioral intervention strategies
- Proven capacity for collaborative teamwork with general educators and support staff
- Commitment to individualized education and advocacy for all learners
- Two professional references required prior to interview
Your Responsibilities:
- Provide direct special education services and support according to student IEPs
- Collaborate with general education teachers to deliver inclusive instruction
- Develop, modify, and implement lesson plans tailored to diverse learning needs
- Track student progress through data-driven practices and adjust supports accordingly
- Foster positive relationships with students and families
- Participate in IEP meetings and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
