Overview Minimum Hiring Wage: $99,078.98 per year. Job Description Manages staff in Diagnostic Imaging and plays an integral role in departmental operations, including recruitment, hiring, training, scheduling, staff time and attendance, promotion, discharge, assignment, evaluation, rewarding, and discipline. Assists the Vice President of Diagnostic Imaging with budgeting, management of supplies, and capital equipment assessment and procurement. Assumes leadership of the department in the Vice President’s absence. Responsibilities Perform direct supervision of staff, including clinical and performance reviews. Plan, prepare, and approve employee work schedules. Forecast staffing and inventory needs to facilitate effective scheduling and ordering. Ensure staff apply primary knowledge while performing all assigned tasks. Inspect work to ensure it meets specifications and standards. Ensure staff develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plans. Respond to complaints promptly. Participate in training and orientation of new staff; provide ongoing education. Evaluate employee performance and recommend actions such as promotions, transfers, and dismissals. Instruct staff in work policies, procedures, and equipment use and maintenance. Confer with staff to resolve performance and personnel problems and discuss company policies. Screen, interview, and recruit job applicants for new hires. Support preceptors and staff in educating students during clinical rotations. Perform regular rounding throughout the department. Oversee department workflow and communicate standards. Coordinate with other departments to ensure efficient and timely service delivery. Inventory stock to maintain adequate supplies and equipment. Assist with selection or purchase of new equipment, supplies, or furnishings. Issue supplies and equipment to workers. Maintain records of work hours, budgets, payroll, and other information. Perform or assist with departmental operations as necessary. Participate in or lead meetings. Recommend changes to improve service and operational efficiency. Collaborate with internal and external leaders, vendors, and suppliers. Implement and maintain quality standards for staff. Ensure documentation complies with department policies and procedures. Investigate complaints about service and equipment and take corrective action. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology. Previous experience in a radiological sciences field. Previous leadership experience (preferred). Knowledge of diagnostic imaging machines and tools, including design, use, repair, and maintenance. Knowledge of business and management principles: strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources, leadership, production methods, and coordination of people and resources. Knowledge of customer and personal service principles, including customer needs assessment and quality standards. Understanding of human behavior, motivation, and psychological research methods. Understanding of security operations for protection of people, data, property, and institutions. Strong written communication and comprehension skills. Strong verbal communication and active listening skills. Ability to identify problems and communicate potential issues clearly. Certified Radiology Technician (ARRT) upon hire. Certified Iowa Dept of Public Health holder upon hire. Basic Life Support certification upon hire. Mandatory Reporter certifications for Adult and Child Abuse upon hire. Preferred: WB campus DI manager designation and PACS Administrator role. Preferred: Certification by the American Board of Imaging Informatics. Benefits Competitive base pay.
