Ovelle is revolutionizing fertility treatment through human in vitro oogenesis—producing eggs from somatic cells. We have developed technology to create the cell types of the ovary from human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) by manipulating expression of transcription factors and RNA‑binding proteins. Notably, we are the first company to produce meiotic oocyte‑like cells from human iPSCs. This is an important step towards in vitro oogenesis because activating meiosis has been a key challenge in the field. We are incorporating these meiotic oocyte‑like cells into ovarian organoids to create synthetic ovaries capable of producing eggs. By innovating egg production, we aim to make fertility treatments more accessible and affordable. About the Specific Role We seek an Epigenetic Reprogramming Scientist to lead our effort to control the genome‑wide epigenetic reprogramming that happens during oogenesis. You will build the biological and analytical toolkit for measuring, benchmarking, and controlling all aspects of epigenetics (including DNA methylation, histone modifications, chromatin accessibility, and 3D genome organization) to drive oogenesis in vitro and ensure consistently high developmental competence of the resulting eggs. This role offers a rare chance to own the hardest, most consequential step in the IVG problem, in a field with immense potential to impact global health and happiness. How You Will Contribute Engineer human iPSCs for massively pooled screens of epigenetic perturbations. Establish and optimize long‑term culture systems that drive cells into oogonia and beyond. Measure epigenetic characteristics of in vitro organoid systems and in vivo counterparts, using cutting‑edge tools to analyze epigenetic marks at the single‑cell level. Computationally integrate data across different epigenetic modalities (DNA methylation, histone marks) and connect epigenetic state to transcriptional program and cell identity. Diagnose and correct the upstream molecular events that cause epigenetic abnormalities. Develop novel synthetic‑biology strategies, including inducible transcription‑factor and epigenetic‑modifier circuits, to control reprogramming beyond what current protocols achieve. Qualifications Exceptional scientific talent, creativity, and rigor. Deep knowledge of epigenetics, especially DNA methylation dynamics and reprogramming (in germ cells, the early embryo, or iPSC reprogramming). Human iPSC/stem cell culture experience. Hands‑on synthetic biology and genome engineering: CRISPR knock‑in and knockout, reporter and inducible‑expression construct design, and pooled screens of genetic perturbations. Experience with epigenetic profiling methods (bisulfite/EM‑seq, ChIP‑seq/CUT&RUN, ATAC‑seq, Hi‑C). Strong computational skills for analysis of epigenetic data, and familiarity with bulk and single‑cell RNA‑seq analysis and its integration with epigenomic data. PhD in stem cell biology, epigenetics, molecular or developmental biology, synthetic biology, or a related field; or proven innovative work in the field.
