Engineering Specialist, Facilities and Critical Systems

Baxter seeks an Engineering Specialist to support global manufacturing facilities by developing engineering standards, reviewing facility designs, and providing technical expertise on critical utility systems. The role combines strategic guidance with hands-on project support across pharmaceutical manufacturing sites worldwide.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain engineering standards and guidance for facilities and capital projects
Review facility designs and project plans for compliance with company standards and regulations
Support manufacturing sites in planning and executing facility upgrades and improvements
Evaluate facility system performance and recommend technical solutions for reliability issues
Travel domestically and internationally up to 25% to support global manufacturing operations

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
15+ years pharmaceutical facility, utility, or systems engineering experience
8+ years engineering leadership or senior technical role experience
Applied cGMP requirements in regulated manufacturing environments
Knowledge of HVAC, WFI, compressed air, mechanical, electrical, and energy systems
Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design tools
Familiarity with FDA, OSHA, 21 CFR, ISO, and building safety regulations

Compensation: $152,000 - $209,000 base annually
