Job Summary:
Emergency Room Nurse Spokane, Washington. This full-time position involves providing critical emergency care in a Level 3 Trauma Center with a strong team-oriented environment. The role offers the opportunity to work with diverse patient populations, including trauma, psychiatric, cardiac, and general medical cases, with a focus on maintaining clinical excellence and supporting team cohesion.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), and Management of Aggressive Behavior/ Crisis Prevention Institute (MOAB/CPI). 3 to 5 years of experience in a Level 3 or higher emergency department setting.
• Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with Pediatric Emergency Nursing Course (ENPC) or Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certifications.
• Skills Required: Rapid sequence intubation (RSI), conscious sedation, line placement, drain and tube management, and general emergency room skills.
• Support on the Unit: Availability of CNA/ER Technicians, receptionists/Hospital Unit Coordinators, charge nurses (who do not take patients), and phlebotomists. Resource nurses and respiratory therapists are available 24/7.
• Technology/Equipment: EMR system EPIC (mandatory), IV pumps (Alaris), Pyxis medication dispensing system, bedside and centralized telemetry monitoring.
• Orientation: One week of general hospital orientation followed by 24 weeks of unit-specific training. For preceptors, 1-2 shifts with a preceptor and 2-3 weeks on the unit are required.
• Shift Details: Nights, utilizing various start times from 0700 to 1900, following a cycle that includes every other weekend rotation. On-call as needed, particularly around holidays, which are as determined by the unit.
• Additional Notes: Utilizes a 1:1 patient care model forcritical care situations. Wear any professional or solid color scrub. Free parking is provided. The unit emphasizes teamwork but can be high-stress; preceptors are supported in assisting new nurses to manage stress and workload.
