Primary Duties and Responsibilities Operations Management for the region Including, but not limited to: Facility management Supply requisition Employee hiring, firing, training and record-keeping Preparing, writing and conducting employee performance reviews and recommending appropriate merit increases Participating in developing, modifying and executing company policies and procedures Shipping Receiving Inventory Control Manages various business goals including, but not limited to: Labor Rate Goal as a percentage of sales Productivity Goals Receiving and Put-away Specification Goals High Velocity Bins Replenishment Shipping Specification Goals Shipping Accuracy (Shipping errors) Inventory Accuracy (Ghost Inventory, Cycle adjustments, etc.) Safety and department security Minimum Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Logistics, Supply Chain or related discipline with a minimum of 8 -10 years of related WH management expertise or an equivalent combination of education and experience Warehouse procedures, forklift training, licensing, hazardous materials, worker’s compensation, disaster recovery, evacuation, and materials handling Worker’s compensation Minimum of 10-15 years of related operations/warehouse experience Minimum of 7-10 years of people management experience Demonstrated proficiency with shipping, receiving and inventory control processes and procedures Demonstrated business communications skills, including negotiations and presentations skills Familiarity with and ability to use Microsoft Office applications Ability to travel throughout the US (25%) Current driver’s license and the ability to maintain a clean driving record Core Competencies and Job Standards Demonstrated proficiencies and skills with developing, implementing and executing policies and procedures relating to WH Operations Business communications, contracts management and negotiations skills Demonstrated skills in influencing and persuading employees at all levels on a cross-functional basis Demonstrated skills in managing concurrent projects within specified timeframes Distribution/warehouse/operations expertise Shipping, receiving and inventory control processes and procedures Strategic, operational and tactical planning skills Project management skills Principal Challenges and Accountabilities OPERATIONS Senior management to measure the performance and success of the operation reviews goals and performance. Resource and budget planning Labor, materials and overhead cost control (i.e. traces losses, solves discrepancy problems, meeting daily shipping schedule, assures inventory control) Schedules and On-time performance (i.e. meeting daily shipping schedule, maintains high level of “on-time delivery” performance Decisions and Judgment OPERATIONS Required to make informed decisions that affect department operations resulting in negative or positive impact to the company, vendors and customers. Resource and budget planning Manages labor, materials and overhead cost control (i.e. traces losses, solves discrepancy problems, meeting daily shipping schedule, assures inventory control) Manages schedules and On-time performance (i.e. meeting daily shipping schedule, maintains high level of “on-time delivery” performance Prepares management reports Internal/External Interfaces Guiding and advising the senior leadership team Actively participate in industry organizations and represent the company in their meetings Represents and functions as a liaison to attorneys, governmental regulatory agencies, insurance companies and individuals, investigating any incidences that may result in asset, property or human loss Meets and works with the company’s executive management team and make presentations Point of contact for emergency personnel Essential Mental Functions Utilizes organizational, planning and management skills (70%) Utilizes personal computer (20%) Numbers and detail oriented (10%) Essential Physical Functions Reaching, - occasional ( Standing –occasional to continuous (30% to 40% of time) Sitting – intermittent to continuous (20-30%) Bending, kneeling, crawling –occasionally (5-10% of the time) Manual dexterity –continuous Domestic travel within the US (25-40%) Tools, Materials and Equipment Used Standard office equipment, including personal computer, fax machine, copier, telephone and hand-held calculator.
