Job Details Specialty: Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) Registered Nurse Employment Type: Travel Nursing Assignment Setting: Acute care medical-surgical unit with orthopedic, trauma, and neuro overflow patients Duration: 13 weeks Start Date: 9/14/2026 Shift: 12-hour nights Schedule: 3 shifts per week, including 3 weekend shifts per schedule period Hours Per Week: 36 Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,680 - $1,770 Location: Kansas City, MO Job Requirements Active Registered Nurse (RN) license BLS certification required Minimum of 1 year of recent nursing experience preferred in med/surg, orthopedic, trauma, or related acute care settings Orthopedic nursing experience strongly preferred Telemetry experience preferred NIH Stroke Scale knowledge helpful Comfortable working with post-op orthopedic patients and trauma overflow Experience with Meditech documentation is a plus Responsibilities Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to med/surg patients with orthopedic and trauma needs Care for post-op knee, hip, and shoulder replacement patients Monitor and support trauma patients and occasional neuro overflow cases Perform bedside shift report and hourly rounding to support an excellent patient experience Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record Collaborate with unit secretaries, patient care technicians, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team Adapt to floating within similar med/surg levels of care as needed Maintain a professional appearance and follow unit guidelines, including navy scrubs Apply now to explore this Travel Med-Surg RN job in Kansas City, Missouri and join a healthcare team committed to high-quality patient care.
