Surgical Technologist - Operating Room

Job Description This position supports surgeons during operative and invasive procedures while ensuring the operating room is properly prepared and stocked. Maintains surgical instruments and supplies, including cleaning and sterilization, and handles medications under appropriate supervision. Participates in team meetings and performance improvement initiatives to support safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care. Participates in team meetings and performance improvement initiatives to support safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care. Qualifications EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED preferred. Graduation from a surgical tech two-year program preferred. Nurses involved in the care of orthopedic and spine patients must adhere to defined educational and competency requirements in compliance with DNV Orthopedic and Spine certification. Nurses providing care to orthopedic and spine patients must complete specialty-specific education and validate competency annually. Nurses are expected to participate in continuing education activities relevant to orthopedic and spine care, including updates on clinical guidelines, emerging technologies, and best practices. Educational areas may include, but are not limited to: Musculoskeletal system anatomy and physiology ERAS Pain management strategies Mobility and safety Prevention of complications such as deep vein thrombosis (DVT), infection, and pressure injuries Glucose management Compartment syndrome LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY: Current BCLS Certification is required. #J-18808-Ljbffr St. Peter's Health
