Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN Circulator for an Operating Room position requiring a NY license and Epic charting experience.

Details

• Work in the Operating Room department of an acute care hospital setting
• Serve as an OR Circulator supporting General Surgery, Gynecology, Orthopedic, and Urology procedures
• Perform circulating duties for procedures such as appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, hernia repair, thyroidectomy, hysterectomy, tubal ligation, arthroscopy, joint replacement, cystoscopy, and prostatectomy
• Day shift schedule of 4x10 hours from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• Rotating weekend requirement approximately every 5-6 weekends
• Rotating on-call requirement approximately every 5-6 nights
• Floating required for circulating duties
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required in hand
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of OR Circulator experience required
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Acute care hospital and circulating experience required for first-time travelers
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Experience with cell saver equipment
• Knowledge of administration of blood and blood products, infection control, laser safety, radiation safety, specimen handling/labeling, Universal Protocol (Time Out) procedures, and wound management

Additional Information

• Perform circulating responsibilities including patient safety checks, equipment preparation, and coordination during surgical procedures
• Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be considered
• First-time travelers accepted with required acute care and circulating experience
• Candidates cannot have more than 10 days of requested time off (RTO) at time of consideration
• Previous staff members must have a 1-year gap since last assignment at this facility to be eligible
• Call-off policy allows up to 3 shifts per 13-week assignment
