Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher supporting high school students in an applied skills classroom setting near Valparaiso, IN. This position begins as soon as possible and runs through the end of the school year in June, providing you with the chance to make a meaningful impact while enjoying the stability of a full-time schedule.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Indiana Special Education Teaching Certification
- Endorsement in mild intervention or intense intervention
- Experience working with high school students with diverse learning needs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom atmosphere
Role Responsibilities:
- Guide and instruct a caseload of approximately 14 high school students in an applied skills classroom
- Develop, implement, and adapt Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in partnership with support staff and families
- Provide differentiated instruction and behavior support tailored to individual student needs
- Track progress, document outcomes, and participate in IEP meetings
- Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers to ensure continuity of support
- Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment that empowers students to reach their academic and personal goals
In this role, you will receive competitive weekly pay commensurate with your experience, with hourly rates between $40 and $45.
