Company Description AcuteVet Animal Urgent Care provides accessible veterinary services for pets with unexpected, critical and non‑critical medical needs, in a convenient, walk‑in setting. The clinic fills the gap between routine veterinary care and specialty hospitals. Extended hours and weekend availability, allow pet caregivers to seek timely care without waiting for a regular clinic visit. Role Description This is a full‑time, on‑site Veterinarian role based in Overland Park, KS. The Veterinarian will evaluate and treat dogs and cats presenting with a range of needs from the most basic to unstable and critical. These presentations include injuries, sudden illness, foreign bodies, dystocia, overdue vaccines and follow‑up needs. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include performing physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, developing treatment plans, prescribing medications, establishing overnight care for our ICU and communicating clearly with pet caregivers about diagnoses and care options. The role also involves collaborating with veterinary technicians and support staff, maintaining accurate medical records, and coordinating care and referrals with specialty facilities when needed. The Veterinarian will support a culture of mutual care and respect, continuous improvement, and excellent service aligned with AcuteVet Animal Urgent Care’s mission. Qualifications Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or equivalent) from an accredited institution and current, or eligibility for, Kansas veterinary licensure. Clinical skills in small animal medicine, urgent care, emergency stabilization, including diagnostics, treatment planning, and follow‑up care. Surgical experience preferred, willingness to pursue surgical training with expectation of performing surgery a must. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to explain medical information clearly, support caregivers in high‑stress situations, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. Proficiency with standard veterinary equipment, with attention to detail and commitment to regulatory and ethical standards. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and to thrive in a fast‑paced, walk‑in urgent care environment. Experience in urgent care or emergency veterinary settings is preferred; additional training or certifications in emergency/critical care are a plus. #J-18808-Ljbffr
