General Production Worker

This role involves working as a molding operator and assembly line worker to support the production of plastic automotive parts. You assemble components, inspect and sort products, package finished goods, and help maintain organized stock levels in a clean, small-cell production environment.

Responsibilities
  • Operate molding machines to produce plastic automotive parts according to established procedures and quality standards.
  • Work on assembly lines to assemble plastic components into finished automotive parts.
  • Inspect parts for defects, ensuring products meet quality and safety requirements.
  • Sort products based on inspection results and production specifications.
  • Package finished parts accurately and securely for shipment or storage.
  • Stock and organize materials and finished goods within the work cell and designated storage areas.
  • Use hand tools and basic production equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Support general production and labor tasks as needed to maintain workflow and meet production goals.
  • Follow all workplace safety guidelines, including required protective footwear, and report any hazards or issues.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area within small work cells shared with a few colleagues.
Essential Skills
  • Experience in general production or manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to perform assembly work on production lines.
  • Skill in inspecting products for defects and quality compliance.
  • Capability to sort, package, and stock parts and materials accurately.
  • Comfort with general labor tasks, including standing for 8-hour shifts and handling repetitive work.
  • Ability to operate basic machines and production equipment.
  • Competence using hand tools safely.
  • Willingness and ability to work traditional 8-hour shifts Monday through Friday on first, second, or third shift.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Background in molding operations or plastic part production.
  • Experience with forklift operation in a production or warehouse setting.
  • Previous work in general production, machine operation, or packaging roles.
  • Attention to detail and strong focus on product quality.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in small work cells with a team.
  • Reliability in attendance and punctuality across multiple shifts.

Work Environment

The role is based in a clean production facility organized into small work cells shared with a few other team members. Traditional 8-hour shifts run Monday through Friday with three options: first shift from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., second shift from 2:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., and third shift from 10:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. Employees on 8-hour schedules may work up to 6 days per week, for a maximum of 48 hours. Steel-toe boots or shoes are required as part of the dress code for safety. The environment can be hot during the summer months, and work involves standing, repetitive tasks, and use of production equipment and hand tools.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Morehead, KY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $15.50/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
