Class C Golf Cart Driver

Location: Long Beach, CA Employment Type: Contract Based, W2 Schedule: Full-time or part-time, based on project and VA requirements Rate: $17.00 – $23.00 per hour (dependent on experience, qualifications, and VA approval) Position Overview Kaleidoscope Supply Services supports the staffing of this position on behalf of a client company. If selected, you will be employed directly by the client—not Kaleidoscope, the VA, or the federal government. This role supports a Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) federal contract. You will work alongside VA teams to help deliver services that support veterans and the VA’s mission. About the Role You will operate motorized golf carts or utility shuttle carts to safely transport patients, visitors, and staff across the facility campus. This role requires a high degree of courtesy, reliability, and careful driving to navigate pedestrian walkways, parking structures, and designated medical facility routes safely. Key Responsibilities Safely operate multi-passenger electric or gas-powered utility golf carts on designated facility pathways and parking areas. Provide exceptional customer service by greeting passengers, answering basic campus directory questions, and assisting passengers with loading and unloading personal items or light luggage. Assist passengers with limited mobility in safely entering and exiting the vehicle. Perform basic pre-shift and post-shift safety inspections of the cart, including checking tire pressure, battery charge levels, canopy integrity, and brake functionality. Maintain clean, orderly, and hygienic vehicle conditions by wiping down seating areas and removing debris daily. Adhere strictly to the facility's speed limits, safety protocols, and designated pedestrian-right-of-way rules. Qualifications & Skills Active California Class C Driver’s License. Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) with no major recent violations or active suspensions. Previous experience operating utility carts, shuttle vehicles, or working in a customer-facing role is preferred. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and assist passengers as needed. Strong communication skills, a patient and respectful demeanor, and a safety-conscious mindset. Contract Details This position supports a federal nonpersonal services contract with the VA. The anticipated contract term includes one base year with up to two optional renewal years, subject to funding, performance, and government needs. As part of the federal approval process, the VA may review resumes and may request interviews. Final placement and start date are contingent upon VA approval. While Kaleidoscope Supply Services manages the staffing process, the employer of record will be the client company supporting the VA contract. Compensation Hourly pay: you are paid only for hours worked. No paid holidays (holiday pay is not reimbursed by the government for this role). No paid time off (PTO) is included. Overtime is not permitted unless pre-approved by both the client and the VA. This compensation structure is standard for federal nonpersonal services contract positions.
