Position Summary: Leads employer engagement and placement strategy for participants completing GWH’s training programs in Solar and Storage, HVAC/Heat Pump, and Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) technicians. Funded through the Truist Foundation Building Career Pathways to Economic Mobility initiative, this role strengthens workforce-to-employer alignment by cultivating industry partnerships, supporting graduate placement in living-wage careers, and convening a Clean Tech Sector Advisory Council to ensure program responsiveness to evolving labor market needs. Serves as the primary liaison between GWH and regional clean tech employers, plays a critical role in maintaining an 80% or higher placement rate for credentialed graduates, and positions GWH as a premier technician talent pipeline in the Greater Houston region. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Develop and maintain strategic relationships with employers across the clean tech ecosystem, including solar, HVAC/heat pump, EV infrastructure, energy efficiency, and related construction and energy sectors. Establish direct hiring pipelines connecting program graduates to industry employers. Coordinate employer participation in hiring events, mock interviews, site visits, and classroom engagement opportunities. Represent GWH at workforce, energy, infrastructure, and industry partnership convenings. Promote employer awareness of GWH as a preferred source of skilled entry-level technicians. Provide individualized placement support to clean tech program graduates, including resume development, interview preparation, and job search coaching. Facilitate direct introductions between graduates and hiring managers. Track employment outcomes, placement quality, and wage progression. Support retention strategies through employer follow-up and participant engagement. Collaborate with instructional staff to align graduate readiness with employer expectations. Convene and facilitate a quarterly Clean Tech Sector Advisory Council composed of employers, industry representatives, and workforce partners. Recruit new members representing emerging technologies and workforce demand sectors. Translate employer feedback into actionable recommendations for curriculum alignment and credential relevance. Support continuous program improvement informed by labor market intelligence. Partner with program leadership to ensure training pathways reflect regional workforce demand. Support employer-informed curriculum enhancements and credential selection. Identify emerging occupations and skill gaps within the clean tech workforce. Contribute to regional workforce planning efforts aligned with economic mobility outcomes. Monitor placement metrics and employer engagement activity to support grant reporting and program evaluation. Maintain documentation supporting placement verification and employer partnerships. Contribute to performance dashboards tracking credential attainment, employment placement, and wage outcomes. Support continuous improvement aligned with WFD performance standards. Perform other duties as directed by management to support evolving organizational needs. Adheres to local, state, and federal laws and regulations. Minimum Qualifications: A bachelor’s degree in workforce development, business, education, sustainability, energy systems, or a related field is required; an equivalent combination of education and professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Three (3) years of experience in employer engagement, workforce partnerships, job development, or industry relations. Demonstrated experience working with employers in construction, infrastructure, energy, utilities, or clean technology sectors is preferred. Experience supporting participant placement into technical or credential-based careers strongly preferred. Knowledge of regional workforce systems and employer hiring practices. Existing relationships within Houston’s clean tech, construction trades, renewable energy, or infrastructure sectors. Experience supporting grant-funded workforce initiatives. Familiarity with industry-recognized credentials such as OSHA-10, EPA 608, NABCEP, or EVSE installation certifications. Experience facilitating advisory councils or employer collaboratives is preferred. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship for current or future employment.
