Accounting Associate

We are seeking a hands-on Accounting professional to support our accounting team during a period of organizational change and an upcoming ERP transition from SYSPRO to SAP. This individual will work across multiple accounting functions to ensure day-to-day operations continue running smoothly while the team prepares for the system conversion.

Responsibilities

• Process and support Accounts Payable activities, which will be the largest area of focus.
• Assist with Accounts Receivable processes and provide customer account support.
• Maintain and support fixed asset accounting records.
• Prepare and update Excel-based reports and accounting schedules.
• Assist with month-end close activities.
• Support account reconciliations and general accounting functions.
• Generate ad hoc financial and operational reports for the finance team.
• Assist with purchasing-related reporting and analysis.
• Support accounting process improvements related to the SAP implementation.
• Help with data validation, cleanup, and other ERP transition activities as needed.
• Collaborate with finance leadership and accounting staff on special projects and day-to-day accounting needs.

Essential Skills

• 3+ years of accounting experience.
• Strong Accounts Payable and general accounting.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience using SYSPRO (strongly preferred and key requirement).
• Ability to work across multiple accounting functions and prioritize competing deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to jump in where needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
• Prior SAP implementation or ERP conversion experience is a plus.

Work Environment

The role is fully onsite in Morton Grove, IL. The accounting team is currently lean due to recent turnover and organizational changes. The team is newer to the organization and working through restructuring while preparing for the SAP transition by year-end. The candidate needs to be flexible, patient, hands-on, and comfortable wearing multiple hats in a changing environment. Work hours are Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.

Job Type & Location: This is a Contract position based out of Morton Grove, IL.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
