Job Purpose The Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) provides recovery-oriented support services to individuals receiving treatment for substance use disorders at Renew360°. The Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) serves as a positive role model, assists clients in navigating treatment and recovery resources, promotes engagement in services, and supports the clinical team in delivering person-centered treatment. The role combines direct client support, recovery coaching, and case management assistance. Time Commitment Full-Time; approximately 40 hours per week. Essential Job Functions Recovery Support Services Provide peer-based and recovery-oriented support to individuals throughout the treatment process. Assist clients in identifying recovery goals and developing individualized recovery plans. Encourage participation in treatment activities, support groups, and recovery-oriented services. Promote hope, empowerment, self-advocacy, and personal responsibility. Support clients in accessing community resources, housing, employment, education, transportation, and healthcare services. Provide educational groups to clients as designated by the Executive Director, and the Clinical Director managing the organizational schedule. Client Engagement Build supportive and professional relationships with clients. Assist with client orientation to treatment programs and facility expectations. Conduct regular check-ins with assigned clients to support engagement and retention. Facilitate recovery-focused activities and educational groups as appropriate. Encourage participation in discharge planning and continuing care services. Facilitates and coordinates family visits. Support client transportation and community linkage activities when appropriate. Professional Development Participate in clinical supervision and training activities required for credentialing Develop competencies in peer support services, motivational interviewing, ethics,and all other areas concerning peer support services. Complete continuing educational requirements and recertification as defined by The CPRS credential, overseen by the Addiction Professionals Certification Board (APCBNJ), Demonstrate commitment to professional growth and lifelong learning.
