Construction Manager

We are seeking an owner’s Construction Manager to join our team. This fixed-term position (through approximately August 2027) is located at the client’s site near Fresno, CA. The role offers competitive compensation and benefit packages, including medical, 401K match, contributions to a Health Savings Account, Paid Time Off, Paid Holidays, and more. Compensation: $150,000 - $180,000. (May vary based on skills, experience, qualifications, and internal peer equity.) Work Arrangement: Work hours on‑site are anticipated to be 40–50 hours per week, with the possibility of more hours if required. Position Summary The Construction Manager serves as the Owner’s primary construction representative onsite. The role is responsible for preparing and presenting project reports to the client while monitoring field construction activities performed by the General Contractor and commissioning efforts for a plant expansion project within a cGMP facility. The manager ensures the contractor has the necessary information to execute the work effectively and monitors safety, quality, schedule, progress, and financial performance on behalf of the Owner. The manager proactively identifies potential risks or constraints and develops solutions to maintain project timelines and achieve critical milestones. Key Responsibilities Represent owner’s interests for timely and on‑budget completion of projects while maintaining quality and safety. Interface with General Contractor, Owner’s Project Manager, executive management, customers, and outside vendors. Act as liaison between engineering and field construction performed by the General Contractor. Assist with coordination of manpower, materials, and equipment to maximize efficiency, maintain schedules, and meet budget goals. Frontline review of contractor submittals and RFIs, providing initial responses before forwarding to engineering. Facilitate timely review of contractor submittals and RFIs to maintain schedule and minimize change orders. Prepare all written reports and interface with clients; report may be written or presented formally. Apply the company’s labor relations policies. Represent the company in the field and act as liaison with client representatives, subcontractors, and government representatives to ensure implementation of all Company and client policies and procedures. Establish and maintain strong job and community relations. Job Requirements Preferred: Ten years of relevant technical and supervisory experience; at least eight years of supervisory and/or management experience; directly managing staff through managers. Education: BA/BS degree in a related field or equivalent experience. Safety: Demonstrated awareness of health, safety & environment issues and action to ensure zero harm to all employees, customers, contractors and the environment. Performance: Customer‑focused mindset; ability to work effectively in a team‑based environment. Collaboration: Strong communicator capable of presenting complex proposals and reports to executive leadership; influence key stakeholders and lead through a collaborative approach. Industry requirements: Background screening, valid driver license, participation in drug and alcohol program. Work Environment & Physical Demands May require standing, walking, sitting, reaching with hands and arms, climbing or balancing, stooping or kneeling, talking and hearing; use of site‑based communication equipment and ability to distinguish colors. Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus.
