Assistant Project Manager - Mechanical Construction

Assistant Project ManagerA growing commercial mechanical contractor is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support large HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical construction projects. This position works closely with Project Managers and field leadership while gaining hands-on exposure to project financials, scheduling, procurement, coordination, and client management.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist Project Managers with day-to-day execution of commercial mechanical projectsSupport project budgets, cost tracking, forecasting, and financial reportingCoordinate RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentationAssist with procurement of equipment, materials, and subcontracted scopesTrack project schedules, milestones, and delivery requirementsCoordinate with field teams, subcontractors, vendors, engineers, and general contractorsParticipate in owner, contractor, and internal project meetingsReview drawings and specifications and assist with resolving coordination issuesTrack labor, materials, equipment, and project costsAssist with billing, change management, and project closeoutDevelop knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, piping, and mechanical construction systemsTake on increasing project ownership as experience and capabilities developRequirements3-5 years of construction experience preferredProject Engineer, Project Coordinator, or Assistant Project Manager experienceMechanical contractor experience preferred but strong MEP construction exposure may be consideredHealthcare construction experience is highly desirableData center, mission-critical, commercial, or other complex project experience is a plusExposure to budgets, schedules, RFIs, submittals, procurement, and change ordersStrong organizational and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environmentCollaborative, accountable, and solutions-oriented approachCompensation & BenefitsPerformance-based bonus opportunityMedical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) / retirement benefitsPaid holidays and PTOStructured mentorship and advancement opportunities into Project Manager responsibilities
