Shipping and Receiving / Stockroom Helper

This role supports shipping, receiving, and stockroom operations within a fast-paced engineering and manufacturing environment. You will manage inventory, perform data entry, assist with stockroom organization, and provide customer service to internal technicians, particularly during a stockroom remodel. The position requires accuracy, strong organizational skills, and the ability to handle material safely.

Responsibilities

• Support daily shipping and receiving activities in a stockroom within an engineering and manufacturing environment.
• Perform inventory management tasks, including counting, tracking, and updating inventory records accurately.
• Complete data entry for inventory transactions using basic computer applications such as Excel and Word.
• Reorganize and maintain the stockroom layout to ensure items are easy to locate and properly labeled.
• Assist with the ongoing remodel of the stockroom by moving materials, rearranging shelving, and setting up new storage areas.
• Provide customer service to technicians by helping them locate and retrieve items from the stockroom.
• Handle material safely and efficiently, including lifting and moving items weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe stockroom environment in compliance with workplace procedures.
• Collaborate with team members and technicians to ensure timely availability of parts and materials.
• Identify and report inventory discrepancies, damaged items, or process issues to the appropriate personnel.

Essential Skills

• Hands-on experience with inventory management in a stockroom or similar environment.
• Proficiency in data entry with strong accuracy and attention to detail.
• Basic computer skills, including the use of Excel and Word.
• Experience with stockroom operations and material handling.
• Ability to lift and move items up to 25 pounds safely.
• Strong organizational skills to maintain orderly inventory and workspaces.
• Great attention to detail when recording and tracking inventory.
• Customer service skills to assist technicians and internal stakeholders.
• High School Diploma or equivalent education.

Work Environment

This position operates in an engineering and manufacturing type setting, primarily within a stockroom. The role follows a daytime schedule from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. You will work with computers and standard office software for data entry, as well as handle physical inventory items, including lifting up to 25 pounds. The space may be undergoing a remodel, requiring flexibility as shelving and storage layouts change. Expect a practical, hands-on work environment focused on safety, organization, and efficient operations.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Fond Du Lac, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
