Bookstore Student Worker

Lincoln Land Community College’s Bookstore is currently accepting applications for a Student Worker to perform sales, provide customer assistance, process merchandise and perform clerical duties. Responsibilities Run cash registers and process transactions for customers on the Point of Sale system Assist customers with purchases, including books, merchandise, technology, uniforms and other items as required Shelve textbooks and other merchandise; pull books from shelves for customers needing books Sell textbooks and other merchandise, collecting, processing, and/or disbursing cash, checks, credit card charges as assigned Assist with opening or closing the bookstore as needed by full‑time staff Perform assigned responsibilities, duties, and tasks according to established practices, procedures, techniques, and standards in a safe and efficient manner and with minimal supervision Periodically clean retail fixtures to assure a professional image of the bookstore Assist with displays of merchandise and assist with relocation of stock when needed Create Student IDs as needed when full‑time staff is not available Institutional Responsibilities Uphold LLCC’s mission, as well as certain standards of conduct within the College and in dealings with students, staff, faculty, and the general public Responsible for compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and other regulations regarding confidentiality of and access to student and other institutional records Schedule and Pay Students will be paid at minimum wage and scheduled to work up to 20 hours per week during bookstore operational hours of Monday‑Thursday 8 AM‑6 PM and Friday 8 AM‑5 PM on the main campus. Requirements Maintain satisfactory academic progress Enroll at least half‑time (6 credit hours) during the semester of employment, except during the summer term Complete LLCC’s mandatory harassment prevention training within 30 days of employment Successfully pass a criminal background check LLCC strives to create an inclusive workplace and environment for our students, faculty, and staff.
