Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into a dynamic contract opportunity supporting young learners as an elementary special education teacher. This role focuses on students in kinder and first grade with moderate to severe needs. You'll be the catalyst for growth and independence, serving students throughout the academic year. This assignment will run from August 13, 2026, through June 3, 2027, and is a full-time role.

Key requirements:

• Valid California Education Specialist Instruction Credential in Moderate/Severe Disabilities (ESN or Mod/Severe) or documentation showing you are actively pursuing this credential
• Experience working as a special education teacher at the elementary level, especially with kindergarten or first grade, preferred
• Strong behavioral management and individualized instructional skills
• Ability to adapt curriculum, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and engage families
• Passion for fostering independence and personal growth in children with significant needs

Your responsibilities will include:

• Designing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs
• Delivering direct instruction and adapting lessons for students with moderate to severe disabilities
• Monitoring and reporting on student progress
• Working collaboratively with support staff, therapists, parents, and administrators
• Managing classroom behavior and maintaining a positive, safe learning environment
• Supporting students both academically and with daily living skills as appropriate
