Awake Overnight Caregiver / Direct Care Worker (DCW) – $17.50/hr

Forest Edge Family Home is a small, 6-bed Adult Foster Care home seeking dependable and experienced Direct Care Workers/Caregivers for our awake overnight shift .

Starting Pay: $17.50 per hour
Shift: 8:00 PM – 8:30 AM
Position: Overnight / Awake Shift

This is NOT a sleep shift . The overnight caregiver is responsible for maintaining a safe, comfortable environment for residents throughout the night and must remain awake and attentive for the entire shift.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive overnight supervision and assistance to residents
• Complete routine safety and resident checks
• Assist residents with personal care and toileting as needed
• Administer medications as assigned and properly document medication administration
• Complete required resident documentation accurately
• Respond appropriately to changes in resident condition or needs
• Perform assigned light housekeeping and overnight household duties
• Prepare for the morning routine and assist residents as needed
• Communicate important information to incoming staff
• Maintain resident dignity, privacy and confidentiality at all times

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of verifiable caregiving/direct-care experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, older adults and/or individuals with dementia
• Dependable attendance and reliable transportation
• Ability to work independently and make appropriate decisions during overnight hours
• Compassionate, patient and attentive to resident needs
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• CPR and First Aid certification required
• Must be able to successfully complete required background checks

Preferred Qualifications

Applicants with current DCW credentials, medication administration training and previous AFC, CMH or developmental-disability experience will receive priority consideration.

Starting wage: $17.50/hour
