Senior Software Engineer

Location: Charlotte, NC Contract Length: 12 Months (Possible Extension) Pay Rate: $53 - $57/hr Note: We are not able to consider C2C or third-party submissions Job#: 3043081 Job Title: ETL Developer Work Arrangement: Hybrid (3 days onsite required: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday - Flexible) Role Overview In this contingent resource assignment, you will consult on or participate in moderately complex Software Engineering initiatives supporting enterprise data processing and ETL platforms. This role will focus on maintaining and enhancing existing ETL applications while driving modernization efforts, including the migration of workloads from Ab Initio to PySpark-based solutions. The ideal candidate will possess deep ETL expertise, strong Python and Oracle skills, and experience supporting enterprise-scale data integration environments. Key Responsibilities Support, maintain, and enhance existing ETL applications and data integration workflows. Provide production support, troubleshoot issues, and ensure timely resolution of incidents in enterprise data processing environments. Perform root cause analysis and implement long-term solutions. Design, develop, test, and deploy ETL solutions using Ab Initio, PySpark, Python, and Oracle Database. Lead and support migration efforts from Ab Initio to PySpark. Develop and optimize data pipelines and data transformation processes. Work closely with business and technology stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver solutions. Utilize AI-assisted development tools for code generation, refactoring, documentation, testing, and migration acceleration. Participate in Agile ceremonies and software delivery processes. Required Qualifications Education: A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field is required. Experience: 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work or consulting experience, training, military experience, or education. Experience must include ETL development, data integration, and supporting enterprise-scale data processing applications. Production support, incident management, and root cause analysis experience is also required. Technical Skills: Strong hands-on experience with ETL development, Ab Initio or PySpark, Python, and Oracle Database. Preferred Qualifications Experience with cloud-based data platforms and modern data engineering practices. Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, version control, and automated testing methodologies. Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, or similar). Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. Proven experience migrating ETL jobs from legacy platforms to modern data processing frameworks. Strong SQL skills.
