Rooms - Valet Attendant (Part Time)

The Valet Attendant provides assistance with guest needs, hotel needs and department needs. Provides service to our guests at a consistent level in accordance with the Ojai Valley Inn standards and regulations. Ensures that all resort guest vehicles are recorded and registered to each room. Ensures that damage is appropriately recorded on all tickets. Ensures that all guest vehicles and keys are treated with care and that precautionary measures are adhered to at all times. Performs the daily responsibilities of these positions and assists where necessary to ensure optimum service to guests and visitors.

To perform this job successfully, the incumbent will possess the abilities or aptitudes to perform each duty proficiently. Some requirements may exclude individuals whose a direct threat or significant risk to the health and safety of themselves, other associates or guests.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Essential:

1. Minimum one (1) year previous experience in a similar position at a Four or Five Diamond Hotel.
2. Valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record.
3. Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
4. Ability to perform basic mathematical computations.
5. Ability to write legibly.
6. Proven ability to motivate a team.
7. Clear thinker in pressure situations and exercise good judgments.
8. Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Desirable:

1. Previous experience in Valet at an upscale hotel/resort.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

1. Handle incoming and departing guests: greet, park, retrieve cars, and provide luggage assistance, ensuring the security of vehicles in valet.
2. Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a professional, service- oriented manner
3. Maintain regular attendance in compliance with OVIS Standards as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel
4. Maintain high standards of appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper uniform and nametag while working
5. Manage shift checklists and ensure completion with valet team.
6. Performing internal audits on damage checks.
7. Auditing of Forbes standards for department.
8. Maintain knowledge of:
   
   • Scheduled daily activities.
   • Daily arrivals and departures.
   • Hotel features, services and amenities.
   • Hours of operation for each outlet.
9. Comply at all times with OVI standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations
10. Be available to give directions or order transportation for guests
11. Other duties they are assigned
