Lead Physical Therapist

Senior II TherapistPerforms patient care at minimum of Senior II Therapist level. See appropriate Senior II job description for patient care duties.The frequency of patient care hours to be determined by Site Manager and may fluctuate per operational demands of unit.Supports the Site Manager in the administrative and operational oversight of the therapy unit/s.Works under the direction of and in absence of the Site Manager.Human Resource responsibilities include: employee orientation, mentoring, staff satisfaction, and performance management of employees up to coaching level.Operational responsibilities include: staffing, scheduling, coordination of day to day activities, unit safety/regulatory compliance, employee mandatory education/health compliance, marketing and input to policy and procedures.Oversees and coordinates therapy interventions delivered throughout the unit as directed by Site Manager.Fiscal responsibilities include: materials management/purchasing of supplies within designated budget guidelines, billing audits.Assures unit compliance with external regulatory body standards.Assists with the implementation of performance improvement initiatives for unit.Supervise, train and assess therapy students during onsite clinical affiliations.Keep abreast of developments in the field by reading current literature, talking with colleagues, and participating in professional conferences.Able to prepare and deliver lectures to therapy students at area academic programs on topics in area of clinical expertise.Able to initiate, facilitate, and moderate classroom discussions.Ensures communication and collaboration with supervisors and fellow co-workers to serve patients and other customers to the best of his/her ability.Is professional in all actions and appearanceEnsure compliance with regulatory parametersUses resources wisely – as if they were one's own.Demonstrates understanding and ownership of how his/her role contributes to achieving the success of the Department and the Health System.Demonstrates a personal commitment to ensuring a clean and safe working environment.Anticipates patients'/customers' needs and acts accordingly.Works to enhance patient satisfactionAssist patients and familiesAnalyzes problems from the customers' point of view.Honors patient/customer/employee confidentiality.Seeks feedback on how to improve performance and offers constructive feedback, as well.Applies learning for improved performance.Presents self professionally & demonstrates professional behavior during interactions with othersStrives to understand and value differences in others' race, nationality, gender, age, background, experience, and style.Serves as clinical instructor (if student is available)Assists with clinical education of students if not the Primary CIProvides a formal presentation of evidenced-based information (i.e. in-service)Attendance at institutional in-services, staff meetings and/or continuing education programsPresents self professionally and communicates appropriate evidence based and accurate technical information to professional groups outside of the department.Participates in Entity and Department wide initiatives for Patient /Employee safetyDemonstrates an awareness of patient/ employee safety when carrying out daily responsibilities of their position.Validation of annual competencies required for the positionFull compliance with licensure requirementsEthical & Legal Practice StandardsPatient Care to fullest extend of licensure guidelinesTherapy DocumentationCompliance Audits-Total of 2 charts reviewed in a quarter by Site Manager or senior therapist.
