Robotics Engineering Lead

A global technology and advanced manufacturing organization is seeking a hands-on Robotics Engineering Lead to develop and deploy automation solutions within a live manufacturing environment.

This position will lead targeted automation projects from initial concept and simulation through integration, validation, and production launch. The role will focus on collaborative robots used for assembly, material handling, and testing, as well as autonomous mobile robots used to move materials throughout the manufacturing floor.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead manufacturing automation projects from concept through production deployment.
• Program and integrate collaborative robots, end effectors, grippers, sensors, and vision systems.
• Develop robotic solutions for assembly, pick-and-place, material handling, and testing applications.
• Deploy and integrate autonomous mobile robots within factory-floor operations.
• Use simulation and offline programming tools to evaluate cell layouts, cycle times, reachability, and system performance before installation.
• Develop and support robotics applications using ROS or ROS 2.
• Integrate AMR fleet-management systems with warehouse or manufacturing execution systems.
• Design or modify tooling, fixtures, end effectors, and manufacturing layouts using CAD.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, software, controls, and integration issues.
• Perform robotic-system risk assessments and ensure compliance with applicable machine-safety standards.
• Partner with manufacturing, engineering, operations, quality, and safety teams to deliver reliable production-ready solutions.
• Document designs, configurations, test results, safety requirements, and operating procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least three years of industrial automation or robotics experience within a live manufacturing or production environment.
• Strong combination of software and mechanical engineering capabilities.
• Hands-on experience programming and integrating collaborative robots, such as Universal Robots or comparable platforms.
• Experience integrating robotic end effectors, grippers, sensors, and vision systems.
• Experience deploying AMRs or similar material-handling automation on a factory floor.
• Experience with cobot simulation and offline programming tools.
• Experience using ROS or ROS 2.
• Experience with robot simulation or digital-twin platforms such as RobotStudio, RoboDK, or comparable tools.
• Familiarity with 2D or 3D machine vision, force/torque control, and pick-and-place applications.
• Experience with AMR fleet management and integration with warehouse or manufacturing execution systems.
• Proficiency with CAD tools such as Creo, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD.
• Working knowledge of robotic machine-safety standards and risk-assessment practices, including ISO 10218, ISO/TS 15066, ISO 12100, and ISO 13849.

• Experience within electronics manufacturing.
• Experience supporting precision manufacturing operations.
• Experience in high-mix, low-volume production environments.
