Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice - Orthopaedic Surgery

Responsibilities The purpose of this position is to provide faculty support to meet the teaching, research, and patient care needs of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation, and assist in fulfilling UTMB's threefold mission. The person in this position is responsible for providing direct patient care, including surgery, consultative services, outpatient services, and care of hospitalized patients. They participate in departmental conferences and lectures, bedside teaching and rounds, supervise house staff in the operating room, clinics, and inpatient services, contribute to continuing medical education, and attend local, regional, and national meetings. They also supervise and evaluate residents, provide medical direction, and serve on departmental and Health System committees. Minimum Qualifications Candidate must be a graduate of an accredited medical school, have completed an ACGME‑approved residency training program in orthopaedic surgery, have an interest in trauma surgery, be Certified/Board Eligible in Orthopaedic Surgery, and be eligible for a Texas Medical license without restrictions. Salary Commensurate with experience.
