Technical Consultant

Role Overview Greystone Technology is seeking a Technical Consultant based in Denver, Colorado who will deliver advanced IT support, technology consulting, and strategic guidance for clients across diverse environments. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive IT support, ranging from routine break‑fix troubleshooting to advanced technical issue resolution. Consult on clients’ technology strategy and design solutions that align with their business goals. Manage tickets and generate client documentation in accordance with internal processes. Maintain Service Level Agreements by responding to user requests within a 30‑minute timeframe. Follow up with end users to ensure issues are fully resolved. Dedicate approximately 6 hours daily or 30 hours weekly to client‑attributed work, with a consistent 75% utilization target. Continuously learn about clients’ ever‑changing systems. Travel to local client locations on a daily or weekly basis as required. Act as a technical escalation point and mentor to other engineers on the team. Collaborate with other service lines and departments to ensure an effortless experience for clients. Qualifications 4+ years of experience in a Systems Administrator/IT Manager role or equivalent. 3+ years of experience with a Managed Service Provider or equivalent environment. Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve advanced technical issues including software installation, configuration, infrastructure, database administration, and server problems. Strong troubleshooting skills for Microsoft platforms (M365, Active Directory, Windows). Advanced knowledge of networking principles and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN/WAN). Experience diagnosing and resolving advanced network issues (internet connectivity, firewalls, VPN, patching). Advanced knowledge of cloud solutions (AWS, Microsoft Azure, VMware Cloud). Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper‑V). Proficient in installing, diagnosing, and maintaining peripheral devices (scanners, printers, monitors). Knowledge of IT security practices (virus remediation, firewalls, phishing). Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery concepts. Experience in technology consulting and strategy for a business. Ability to communicate complex technology concepts to non‑technical stakeholders at all levels. Ability to manage complex technical problems from start to finish. Empathetic approach to client problem‑solving and a courteous demeanor. Curiosity about technology and motivation to learn independently. Experience mentoring, training, and leading individual contributors or small teams. Preferred Skills and Attributes Intermediate knowledge of Apple Mac OS and iOS troubleshooting. Experience with ticketing management systems. Awareness of how technology impacts business. Professional confidence and a client‑service mindset. Ability to learn diverse systems, software, and applications within a business environment. Positive, courteous demeanor and passion for solving problems.
