The Structural Engineer PE will work on a variety of projects, including subdivisions, storm and sewer drainage, water supply piping, grading and surface flow, erosion control, and pavement and concrete design systems. Collaborating with a diverse team of professionals, clients, contractors, and public agencies, this role combines technical expertise with innovative problem-solving. Occasional site visits and client meetings provide hands-on involvement and strengthen project relationships, making this a dynamic and rewarding career opportunity.

Essential Functions and Duties:

Independently lead structural design staff throughout the project design and construction phases

Identify and solve problems with a goal to provide appropriate and constructable solutions

Work in a multi-discipline team environment to manage the development, design, and implementation of structural concepts, systems, drawings, and specifications

Coordinate with external suppliers, internal design teams, and manufacturers

Ensure structural designs meet company quality standards

Use various software packages to calculate gravity, lateral, and foundation loads

Respond to contractors during the construction process

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with 5+ years of post-graduate experience

Licensed Structural Professional Engineer (PE); SE designation preferred but not required

Proven design experience with wood, steel, concrete, and masonry structural systems

Strong knowledge of building codes, value engineering, and industry best practices

Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities independently or within a team

Effective communicator with strong written, verbal, and mentorship skills

Proficient in Microsoft 365, Bluebeam, Autodesk Revit, and structural design software (Enercalc, RISA, Simpson, Woodworks preferred)
