Senior Accountant

About the Opportunity

Our client, a growing and stable organization, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its finance team. This role will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting function, month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and process improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting professional with strong technical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead month-end and year-end close activities.

• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals.

• Maintain and analyze general ledger activity.

• Prepare internal financial reports and supporting schedules.

• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash management activities as needed.

• Monitor financial transactions for accuracy and compliance with GAAP.

• Assist with audits and provide documentation to internal and external auditors.

• Identify process improvements and support accounting system enhancements.

• Collaborate with operations, finance, and leadership teams on ad hoc projects and reporting needs.

• Mentor and support junior accounting staff as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in corporate accounting or public accounting.

• Strong knowledge of GAAP, general ledger accounting, and month-end close procedures.

• Experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA or CPA track preferred.

• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

• Prior experience supporting audits and financial statement preparation.

• Exposure to manufacturing, distribution, logistics, or service-based environments.

• Experience identifying and implementing process improvements.
