Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Steel Detailer to join our team, specializing in bar grating fabrication. This role supports fabrication projects by producing accurate and detailed shop drawings, working closely with the team and reporting to the Senior Detailer, Fabrication Manager, and Project Manager. The ideal candidate has strong problem-solving skills, proficiency in AutoCAD, and a solid understanding of steel bar grating and related structural elements. There is an opportunity for growth and role advancement within the company.
Responsibilities
- Interpret customer contracts, structural drawings, and specifications
- Produce accurate shop drawings for steel bar grating fabrication
- Create detailed layouts, cut lists, banding details, and support framing for customer approval
- Revise drawings based on field conditions and customer feedback
- Ensure drawings comply with project requirements and industry standards
- Perform quality checks on shop drawings
- Manage multiple projects to meet deadlines
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years' experience in steel detailing and shop drawing production
- Proficient in AutoCAD
- Ability to interpret structural and architectural drawings
- Experience working from both 2D and 3D drawings
- Knowledge of steel bar grating, banding, and supports
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
