Systems EngineerOur client is hiring a systems engineer for munition design, analysis, integration, and testing, seeking a highly organized, goal-oriented systems engineer to join our growing organization in Tucson, AZ. The ideal candidate will play a key role in the design, development, integration, and maintenance of complex defense systems. The position requires a strong background in systems engineering, a keen understanding of defense industry standards, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Responsibilities:Lead the design and development of defense systems, ensuring they meet stringent specifications and performance requirementsSupport the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost restraintsPerform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specificationsTroubleshoot and resolve system issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and implement solutionsDeliver technical guidance and recommendations to the engineering team, helping them understand and drive innovation and advanced prototype concepts into automation, modeling and simulation, software architectures, and integration outcomesConduct system integration and testing to verify and validate the functionality, performance, and security of defense systemsParticipate/lead and coordinate preparation, conduct, and closeout of internal and external customer reviews: SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, and Stage Gate reviewsIdentify potential risks and costs associated with system development and implementationEnsure compliance with defense industry standards and regulationsEducation and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering or related field preferredProven experience in systems engineering within the Defense Industry, 6-10 yearsRapid developmentRequirements development, management, and requirements configuration controlDemonstrated ability to manage and collaborate across cross-discipline teams (Electrical, Mechanical, Software, GNC, Manufacturing, Operations, etc…)Ability to generate block diagrams, interface control diagrams (electrical, logical, software etc…)Intermediate experience in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Visio, MS Project and/or other applicable toolsIntegration, Test, Verification, and Validation ExperienceDesired - Model based engineering and tools (MBSE, SysML, Cameo or equivalent)Desired - Configuration Management ExperienceExcellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skillsMust be able to verify U.S. citizenshipAbility to obtain necessary security clearanceWork Environment:This role is based onsite in a casual, collaborative engineering environment located in Niceville, FL or Tucson, AZ. Work is performed primarily during core hours of Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m., with additional flexibility as needed to support project demands. Periodic travel is required to support integration and testing at external facilities and test ranges.
