Water / Wastewater Engineer

We are seeking a Water / Wastewater Engineer to support the planning, design, delivery and improvement of water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This role will contribute to a varied portfolio involving treatment facilities, pumping stations, pipelines, drainage systems, reservoirs and associated civil, mechanical, electrical and process assets. You will work closely with project managers, technical specialists, contractors, clients and regulatory stakeholders to develop practical, sustainable and cost-effective engineering solutions.


Your responsibilities will include preparing feasibility studies, technical reports, calculations, specifications, drawings and schedules; undertaking hydraulic and process assessments; supporting the selection and evaluation of treatment technologies; and contributing to designs from concept through to detailed design and construction. You will assist with site investigations, surveys, inspections, risk assessments and asset condition reviews, while ensuring that work complies with relevant legislation, technical standards, health and safety requirements and environmental objectives. The role will also involve reviewing technical submissions, responding to queries, monitoring progress and providing engineering support during construction and commissioning.


Applicants should hold a degree or equivalent qualification in civil, environmental, chemical, water engineering or a related discipline, together with relevant experience in the water or wastewater sector. A sound understanding of hydraulic modelling, water and wastewater treatment processes, pipeline design, drainage or infrastructure delivery is desirable. Experience using industry-standard design and modelling software, as well as the ability to interpret technical data and produce clear documentation, will be valued. You will need strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills, with the confidence to work independently and collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams. Professional registration or progress towards chartered status is advantageous.
