The person we are hiring for this role will be central to that build. The Role This is an upper-level management position working directly with the President to lead GC operations across WCC. You are not here to run projects. You are here to run the operation — the people, the process, and the performance standards that make every project successful. WCC operates through Project Success Teams — each led by a Project Manager with a team of superintendents accountable for field execution. You own that layer. Every PM reports to you. Your job is to make sure they have the systems, the support, and the accountability structure to perform at a high level consistently. You will also be the primary driver of process improvement at WCC. We are building documented operational standards from the ground up — SOPs that cover how we estimate, how we manage projects, how we communicate with owners, how we close jobs out. You will lead that work in partnership with the President and the KEY3 leadership team. What You Will Do GC Operations Leadership Own the day-to-day performance of WCC's GC project portfolio across all active Project Success Teams Direct all Project Managers — weekly project reviews, accountability to schedule and budget, early identification of risk and fade Monitor project health across the portfolio using WCC's weekly reporting system — GP trend, schedule status, change order aging, client relationship Identify and address performance issues at the PM and superintendent level before they become project problems Conduct quarterly deep-dive reviews on all active projects with PM and field leadership Process Improvement and Standards Lead SOP development across core GC delivery functions: project startup, billing cadence, change order management, look-ahead scheduling, job closeout Build and maintain a documented operating standard that every PM is trained against and held to Drive continuous improvement in Safety, Quality, and Production, the three pillars WCC measures field performance against Partner with the President and estimating team to ensure field feedback flows into future bid assumptions PM Development and Team Building Develop Project Managers at all experience levels — from new hires learning the WCC model to experienced PMs growing into senior roles Lead the weekly PM team meeting — own the agenda, produce the output, drive accountability Build onboarding and training processes that bring new PMs up to standard quickly and consistently Be the person PMs come to when they have a problem — and have an answer or a process that helps them solve it Field Coordination Weekly travel to active job sites throughout the Mid-Ohio Valley region: southeastern Ohio and northern West Virginia Maintain visibility on field execution, superintendent performance, and self-perform crew deployment in coordination with the General Superintendent Serve as an escalation point for field issues that exceed PM authority What We Are Looking For Required Minimum 10 years of commercial construction project management experience Project experience in the $1M–$10M range; GC prime delivery background required Procore fluency — this is non-negotiable; our entire project management and reporting infrastructure runs on Procore Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team of project managers — not just manage projects personally Track record of building or implementing operational systems, processes, or standards in a construction environment Strong financial acumen — you understand GP%, cost-to-complete, change order margin, and WIP; you read a job cost report and know what it is telling you Clear, direct communicator — with PMs, with field leadership, with owners, and with the president Preferred Experience in education, government, or municipal construction sectors Familiarity with Ohio and/or West Virginia public owner procurement processes Experience with self-perform concrete or general trades operations Background that includes both field and office roles — you understand what it takes to execute in the field, not just manage from a desk What WCC Offers Compensation commensurate with experience — this is a senior leadership role and will be compensated accordingly Direct access to and partnership with the company president — this role shapes the direction of GC operations at WCC A company in active, intentional growth with the backing of a multi-company corporate parent Real authority to build and implement operational systems — not a title without power A team of project managers who want leadership, structure, and a standard to perform against Benefits package including health insurance, 401K, mileage reimbursement, and company profit sharing program CORE VALUES Value Honesty Amazing Judgment Leading by Taking Action Unified Team Exceeding Customer Expectations Swift to Change Wolf Creek Contractingis an Equal Opportunity Employer that recognizes the value of a diverse workforce.
