Intermediate Care Nurse PractitionerThe Intermediate Care Nurse Practitioner works within the intermediate care hospital setting in collaboration with a vibrant team including but not limited to neurologists, neurosurgeons, residents, fellows, and APPs in a highly rewarding academic hospital setting. Responsibilities include: inpatient care, patient education, collaboration with consulting specialists and primary providers, maintaining communication and collaboration with interdisciplinary health care teams, potentially precepting APP students as well as onboarding new APPs, and care policy/protocol adherence and education. Primarily care for and follow adult patients with various neurological, in conjunction with internal medicine, conditions as they transition through the service. The NP is an integral part of the care team. This is a unique opportunity to join a top neurosciences academic medical center team.Schedule:Limited on-call required.7 days/week service requires weekend shifts.Expansion of team/service will require nights services (strategic plan in ~2-3 years).Shifts: Full-time (40 hours)Key Accountabilities:Evaluates the health condition of patients in providing safe, comprehensive clinical care.Application of evidence-based medicine pertinent to patients and their families to improve outcomes.Advances the knowledge of the inter-professional team through leading training and development programs to improve healthcare delivery and patient outcomes.Continuously evaluates the relationships among access, cost, quality, safety and their influence on healthcare outcomes.Provides leadership in the translation of new knowledge and evidence-based care into practice.Constant consideration of the developmental level of patients when translating health information to support positive health outcomes.The NP demonstrates understanding of internal and external NP practice rules, regulations and legislation to maintain compliance and certification.Serves as an advocate for the needs of the patients across the health care continuum ensuring the best patient/family experience and to advance patient health throughout the community we serve.Integrates ethical principles in decision-making.Qualifications:MSN/DNP from an accredited nursing program requiredActive Maryland RN license and certification as a Family NP or an Adult Acute Care NPLicensure: CDS (prescription) and DEA (narcotics) licensure requiredCurrent BLS CPR - Healthcare provider and ACLS certification (AHA or Red Cross accepted)Provider Enrollment, Chain and Ownership Systems (PECOS) enrollment required for Medicare ordering purposesSalary Range: Minimum 58.03/hour - Maximum 89.94/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
