Automotive Technology (Adjunct/Part-Time) Salary: $80.00 - $102.25 Hourly Job Type: Part-Time Job Number: 63 Closing: Continuous Location: 5100 Sierra College Blvd, Rocklin, CA Division: Instruction Office Functions and Tasks Lecture/Laboratory Presentation Present lecture/laboratory information and concepts in a clear and logical manner; use current examples and/or analogies; provide instructional objectives; outline, summarize and emphasize major points; enhance presentations with visual aids, handouts and demonstrations; answer student questions clearly; encourage student participation in classroom discussions. Student Performance Evaluation Develop and grade quizzes, examinations, term papers, homework assignments, projects and laboratory assignments; monitor student activity during assessments; read and evaluate student responses; assign official grades; advise students on academic performance; refer students to appropriate student services for specialized testing and tutoring. Lecture/Laboratory Preparation Review and select appropriate textbooks; evaluate textbooks for cost and readability; stay current in the field; develop supplemental materials; develop syllabi; prepare lesson plans; coordinate lectures with laboratory assignments; maintain professional memberships. Curriculum Development Review and evaluate curriculum to meet student interests and needs; work with local businesses and advisory committees; coordinate with faculty to enhance consistency; evaluate and revise courses; present proposals for curriculum changes to appropriate committees. Shared Governance Activities Attend and participate in district, division and department meetings; participate in advisory committee and board meetings; represent the department by serving on committees; assist with faculty peer evaluation; stay informed of district activities. Student Services Post and hold regular office hours; recognize diversity of the student population; provide positive role modeling; participate in commencement and award ceremonies; provide letters of reference; promote articulation with feeder high schools and transfer universities; encourage internships and scholarship applications. Special Programs Participate in special programs related to the enhancement of instruction such as career fairs and student outreach activities. Minimum Qualifications Associate’s Degree with six (6) years of professional/occupational experience in the discipline, or Bachelor’s degree or higher with two (2) years of professional/occupational experience, or Bachelor’s degree or higher with prior teaching experience.
