Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for Labor and Delivery patients.
• Demonstrate competence in care of patients with complex problems, including physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects of care.
• Circulate for C-sections and perform OB triage as required.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate patient care, communicate relevant information, and promote continuity of care.
• Assess and anticipate discharge needs of individual patients and families, consulting appropriate resources for complex care issues.
• Participate in unit goal development, performance improvement activities, and cost-effective care practices.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience.
• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of North Carolina.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification (AHA or ARC).
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (AHA or ARC).
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited school of nursing.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• BSN or MSN from an accredited school of nursing.
