This includes product engineering, media engineering, quality engineering, and the engineering behind personalization, commerce, lifecycle, and identity.The DEEP & Technology team is seeking a Sr. Software Development in Test Engineer to join our Engineering Services team to build test automation and processes to ensure the quality of the Disney Media Player across clients and devices. When our player works properly, it delivers seamless, high-quality streaming experiences to millions of viewers across web, mobile, connected TV, and gaming console platforms. Defects in the media player can negatively impact playback quality, reliability, and the viewer experience across our portfolio of streaming products.This is a unique opportunity to join an excellent team and have a meaningful impact on the QE and automation process and culture, as well as the products we release. If you are interested in a testing role with a heavy emphasis on automated testing where the results of your testing will have significant impact on the business and be highly visible to company leadership, then this might be the right opportunity for you!Responsibilities include:Work closely with Software Engineers to understand the Disney Media Player and its cross-device ecosystem at DEEP & TechnologyDevelop automated test frameworks and suites on UI, API and Integration levels of testing using JS/Node or other modern languagesParticipate in design discussions for our platform to help evolve the platform in a way that enables richer testing scenarios that simplify defect detection and preventionAssist with triage, diagnosis, and resolution of issues discovered across teams.Contribute to end-to-end acceptance testsWhere necessary, develop and execute manual test cases to detect issues that cannot be detected through automated meansDrive the conversion of manual tests to automated whenever possibleRequired Education, Experience/Skills/Training:Minimum of 5 years of hands-on software test development experience, including both functional and non-functional test developmentPassion around driving best practices in the testing spaceProficiency with JS/Node, Python, or other modern OO languagesExperience with test automation across multiple device platforms (smart TVs, set-top boxes, mobile, web, gaming consoles) or eagerness to develop this expertiseFamiliarity with streaming media concepts (playback quality, ABR, DRM, codec behavior) or interest in developing domain expertiseExperience building or improving test automation frameworks.Proficiency CICD integration and pipeline development in Jenkins, Spinnaker or other similar tools.Experience in Gherkin ( BDD /TDD )Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across engineering teamsBachelor's Degree, preferably in Computer Science (or equivalent degree or work experience)The hiring range for this position in Morrisville, NC is $111,900 - $150,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
