Quality Inspector

Job Description

This position will perform a wide variety of inspection and quality control operations including visual, dimensional, functional, and non-destructive examinations. Verify compliance to drawings, specifications, procedures, and customer requirements while maintaining accurate quality records and traceability.

Responsibilities

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform MT and PT inspections and prepare associated reports.
• Inspect components, assemblies, and finished products for conformance.
• Prepare databooks, certifications, and quality documentation.
• Review supplier documentation, MTRs, and inspection records.
• Validate material and product traceability.
• Coordinate receiving inspections and disposition of nonconforming material.
• Prepare and coordinate NCRs and support corrective actions.
• Lead or participate in Root Cause Analysis investigations.
• Maintain inspection records and quality files.
• Coordinate gage calibration and maintain calibration records.
• Maintain inspection and gage control areas.
• Utilize precision measuring equipment, CMMs, Romer Arms, and other inspection tools.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions, and assembly procedures.
• Communicate quality issues with engineering, production, suppliers, customers, and management.
• Ensure compliance with company quality systems, ISO requirements, and HSE policies.
• Perform duties with minimal supervision and support overtime/weekend work when required.

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma, some college, technical school, or equivalent
• 3 years of experience or training in a similar role
• Experience in a CNC machine shop is highly preferred
• Up to three (3) years of experience in a heavy manufacturing shop environment, preferably in a process-oriented shop and/or related industry preferred
• Experience with coordinate measuring tools considered an asset

PHYSICAL/NON-PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
