About the Role A highly-regarded patisserie and restaurant in Paarl seeks a talented and artistic Pastry Chef to lead its dessert creation and production. You will be responsible for crafting exquisite pastries, desserts, and baked goods that delight the palate and captivate the eye. This role requires creativity, precision, and a deep understanding of pastry techniques and ingredients. You will manage the pastry kitchen, mentor junior staff, and ensure the highest standards of quality and presentation. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute innovative dessert menus and seasonal specials. Prepare a wide range of pastries, cakes, breads, and other baked goods using high-quality ingredients. Manage pastry kitchen operations, including inventory, ordering, and maintaining equipment. Ensure consistent quality, taste, and presentation of all pastry items. Train and supervise junior pastry cooks, fostering a collaborative and efficient kitchen environment. Requirements Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or Senior Pastry Cook in a reputable establishment. Mastery of classic and contemporary pastry techniques and decorating skills. Strong understanding of baking science and ingredient interactions. Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
