Position: Security Officer Armed Grounds Patrol Location: Bunn, NC Position Type: Part Time Pay Rate: $21.50 / Hour Job Schedule: Mon 05:45 AM - 06:00 PM Tue 05:45 AM - 06:00 PM What You'll Do: Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or the public by carrying out site-specific procedures, access control activities, and emergency response actions at a government location. Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting details and communicating with supervisors and/or public sector personnel as needed. Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout assigned buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and report security-related concerns. Monitor entrances, restricted areas, and movement throughout the location while following post orders, use of force guidelines, and applicable regulations. Support order and accountability by observing inmate, visitor, and/or contractor activity, reporting unusual behavior, and assisting with emergency protocols when appropriate. Minimum Requirements: Be at least 21 years of age. An armed guard card or license is preferred. Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law. Participate in industry-specific security training programs. Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment. A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
