Job Description Job Description Onsite Health Educator – Health Promotion & Wellness ( Pittsburgh, PA 15219) Travel Requirements Local Travel: Frequent (multiple times per week) throughout the Pittsburgh metro and surrounding areas. Regional Travel: Occasional travel within the tri-state area (PA, OH, WV). National/Long-Distance Travel: Infrequent, on an as-needed basis. Note: Reliable personal transportation/valid driver's license required. Job Type: Full-Time, Direct-Hire (Permanent placement on company payroll with immediate full benefits; not a temporary job ) Location: Greater Pittsburgh Area, PA (Downtown Pittsburgh, PA Headquarters with regular local travel to employer client sites across the region; reliable personal transportation required) Schedule: Monday – Friday, Day Shift (Standard daylight hours with occasional evening or weekend event coverage as needed) New Hire Starting Base Pay: $21.14 – $24.23 per hour (Starting pay based on experience, with clear advancement pathways as you build specialized expertise.) Future Earning Potential: Established employees have the opportunity to earn progressive pay increases up to $35.13 per hour over time through performance, tenure, and continuous learning. Mandatory Qualifications Education & Credentials: Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field required (Health Education, Exercise Science, Public Health, Nutrition, or related discipline). National certification (e.g., CHES) preferred. Licensure & Transportation: Valid PA Driver’s License and access to reliable personal transportation required for frequent regional client travel (ability to lift/transport 30 lbs. of event equipment). Biometric & Clinical Screening Experience: Hands-on experience or clinical capability conducting biometric screening measurements (blood pressure, body mass index, glucose, cholesterol) and interpreting results with participants. Behavior Change & Coaching Skills: Knowledge of health behavior change strategies, lifestyle coaching, risk reduction, and motivational interviewing principles to assess readiness to change. Professional Standards & Software: Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access); strong oral communication skills, high energy, and exemplary personal commitment to a healthy, nonsmoking lifestyle. How You'll Make an Impact Biometric Health Screenings: Plan, coordinate, and execute onsite employer and community biometric screening events, collecting clinical measures and delivering immediate result reviews. Lifestyle Coaching & Education: Facilitate individual and group education sessions focused on stress management, weight control, healthy eating, physical activity, and chronic disease risk reduction. Participant Engagement & Referrals: Assess member readiness to change, build trust, and provide direct referrals to internal health plan resources and community-based wellness programs. Stakeholder & Client Relations: Collaborate with employer client leadership and internal wellness teams to articulate program value, manage event logistics, and maintain professional boundaries. Program Evaluation & Administrative Data: Maintain accurate event documentation, track participant metrics, and continuously build knowledge of site-specific health enhancement offerings.
