Manufacturing Engineer InternshipLocation: Kalamazoo, MIDepartment: Operations / Manufacturing EngineeringOverview: We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineering Intern to join our team for a hands-on internship experience. This opportunity will expose you to real-world engineering challenges in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, where you'll assist with process improvements, data analysis, and continuous improvement projects.Responsibilities:Assist in evaluating and improving manufacturing processes for efficiency and qualitySupport time studies, workflow optimization, and layout planningParticipate in lean manufacturing and 5S initiativesCreate and update standard operating procedures and work instructionsCollect and analyze production data to support process improvement decisionsWork with cross-functional teams including production, quality, and maintenanceHelp implement new equipment or automation solutionsSupport root cause analysis and corrective action effortsBasic Qualifications:Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related fieldStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsProficient in Microsoft Excel and basic CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD)Excellent communication and teamwork abilitiesAbility to work on-site and adapt in a dynamic manufacturing environmentInterest in lean manufacturing, automation, and hands-on engineering workPreferred Qualifications:Coursework or experience related to manufacturing systems, process design, or industrial automationFamiliarity with Six Sigma or Lean toolsBenefits Starting from Day 1:Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance (including FSA and HSA options)Life Insurance + Supplemental Life, Child, Spousal, and AD&D InsuranceShort and Long Term DisabilityRetirement Planning, 401(k) plan, & Financial Wellness ResourcesEducational Assistance ProgramTime off Policies (including sick leave, parental leave, and paid vacation)Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on job classification and length of employment.
