Maintenance Supervisor

Overview Gilbane Development Company is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor in Washington DC. The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for all daily physical building-related activities and will implement and maintain energy management, preventive maintenance, quality standards, operating objectives, and goals of the owner, protecting while maximizing the value of the property. Responsibilities Maintenance and Operations Supervise vendors and subcontractors as needed. Maintain preventive maintenance and overall schedules. Institute and manage maintenance and operational best practices for all buildings, grounds, and operating systems. Understand OSHA, other regulatory guidelines, and industry best practices to ensure compliance with work and testing performed by maintenance personnel, vendors and subcontractors. Operate and manage all aspects of the Building Management Systems (HVAC, lighting control, security and life safety). Manage usage and procurement to insure utility optimization. Project Systems Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning (HVAC) Plumbing Electrical and Lighting Systems Structural Life Safety Systems Qualifications Minimum of 5+ years’ maintenance engineering experience with knowledge of commercial, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. High school diploma or equivalent with technical school certification. General maintenance skills in carpentry, painting, locksmithing, etc. Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license. Proven knowledge of technical terms used in HVAC, plumbing and/or electrical. Strong knowledge of building trade tools and equipment. Good verbal and written communication skills in English. Must be a good team player with multi‑tasking skills. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Excellent attendance record and willingness to work a flexible schedule, including after‑hours and on‑call duties. Benefits and Compensation Salary ranges from $69,100.00–$87,200.00 plus benefits and a retirement program.
